I first fell in love with Alec Baldwin while watching the gay night time soap, Knots Landing
In the 1984-85 Season, he played Joshua Rush the preacher, a crazed religious fanatic with his own TV show. Abandoned by Lilliemae when he was a baby, he showed up as an adult to live with his mother. He ended up marrying the sultry rock singer Cathy Geary, (Lisa Hartman) who had died in a fiery car crash the previous season, and tried to force her to sing gospel songs on his TV show.
When she refused, Joshua became increasingly violent and abusive towards her, so she left him. Not wanting to lose her, he decided that they should die together. He proceeded to try to throw Cathy off of a tall building, but Lilimae arrived in time to stop him. She disowned Joshua, and he stumbled, shocked. He proceeded to fall of the roof and a sad Lilimae spent the rest of the season mourning him. I spent the rest of the season mourning Alec Baldwin.
